The newly appointed Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said he will be sending a letter to the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak regarding the matter.
“Hopefully, there will be a positive outcome from the plan accordingly with Water Service Industry Act 2006.
“We are also committed that the Langat 2 Project will be combined together with the restructuring plan so that it will be not operated seprately,” said Khalid to reporters after his appointment as Menteri Besar for the second term at Istana Alam Shah in Klang.
The idea to restructure the state’s water industry was initiated for years.
“The restructuring plan has been completed and I will sent the letter tomorrow because this is a vision of Selangor people,” he said.
Last week, PKR deputy president Azmin Ali was reportedly said that civil servants and business community had complained on the state administration’s gross bereaucratic practices — which did not reflect a reformist administration.
However, Khalid said that the efforts to reform is still on going.
“I think we are a reform party and this is a continous process,” he said.
Meanwhile, he also added that the line-up selection of exco have begin but it will only be announce after receive approval by Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
He did not say if the outspoken Azmin will be part of the exco line-up.
“We can’t make any announcement yet as this matter is still in the discussion and we expected it will take a week,” he said.
